Saturday, June 5, 2010

Take a deep breath in. Now slowly let it out and smile… It’s Saturday.

I love Saturdays. Almost as much as I love good food. I wake up early and see one of my funniest clients who makes me laugh for an hour, and then I go and kick my own butt along with the butts of several pregnant women in Bloor West Village.

When I first took over the Saturday Belly Bootcamp class for my then-pregnant best friend Dara, I wasn’t sure I’d dig getting up early on a Saturday to exercise. Now – I live for Saturday mornings. Seeing these women working out, getting stronger and bonding over endless burpees and wall sits makes me so happy and proud. We talk about everything – today it was “how comfy are maternity clothes!?!?!!” and “how yummy is pasta carbonara?!???!!”, and we always laugh and sweat together.

After a great workout I come home to find my fiancée usually reading the paper on the balcony and we have a nice brunch together. Today I have a few hours of work ahead of me, but then we’ll get out for a bite or go to a movie.

Bliss…. If only every day could be a Saturday.

" Elizabeth is a fantastic personal trainer. I have been working with her for years now and continue to love her energetic enthusiasm... It's contagious! She managed to whip my butt into shape and helped me rework my diet. She’s a great motivator – just what you need is a personal trainer! "
